My Dream House.

We have been writing about what our dream houses would include. We have no budget. So come on in and let me take you on a fantastic journey of my dream house. We're going to the action room now so for those wusses out there put some padding on!

Let me show you my awesome action room! It is filled with  big slides, climbing walls, trampolines, trapezes and a gladiator fighting ring. If you do fall off it doesn't hurt because you will fall into a foam pit! On one of the slides it is a jump which means at the end there is a one metre drop! Everything is blown up so it is like a bouncy castle. I am the master of gladiator fighting, all you do is fight and whack your opponent off, Ba bam! You don't need to worry I won't hurt you, well I probably won't. I can't promise you anything!

Komodo Dragon Report

I would like to introduce you to a very horrifying creature known as the komodo dragon.
Appearance
The komodo dragon is a massive creature that can grow up to 3 meters long. They have a long muscular tail and strong, sharp claws. Their skin is very scaly, usually brown and grey colored. Their tongue is very long and forked and they can have up to 60 teeth in their mouth. They have a long flat head with their eyes at the top and  can weigh up to 300 kgs.

Diet
The komodo dragon eats a range of  foods, usually eating wild pigs, deer, goats,  dogs, water buffalos and occasionally humans. The komodo dragon is a carnivore meaning they only eat meat. They have a massive appetite eating large amounts of meat at a time.

Habitat
The komodo dragon only lives in 5 Indonesian islands and usually lives in the dry savannah and open woodlands.

Special features
The komodo dragon has deadly bacteria ridden saliva. It has 50 different bacteria in it. The komodo dragon uses its long forked tongue to sample the air. When they attack their prey after 24 hours the creature will die of blood poisoning from the bacteria in in the saliva. A young komodo dragon can also climb trees and swim. It can smell from up to 9 kms away and leap at prey from 4.5 metres away. After they have swum they make a burrow to get their body temperature back to normal.
Enemies
The komodo dragon’s enemies are themselves. They can attack each other. Before they attack they puff their throat out as a warning and then they make their attack. They use their long muscular tail to defend themselves.
Life span
The komodo dragon lives for 25-40 years and the females lay, 20-30 eggs. The komodo dragon's eggs are soft and leathery and when they hatch they are 40 cms long.
Species
The komodo dragon is a species called the komodoeisis and there are only 3,000-5,000 left in the world. They are an endangered species.

I hope you learnt something about the komodo dragon.

Who plans to become a architect and triathlete

Our race wasn't till 12:15 but the nerves started kicking in.Then we started the race 3...2...1 beep! We set off climbing the hills and making the most of the downhills. We had a great race! I was a zombie in the Stage Challenge performance and we had great make up that looked really scary! We competed against other schools, it was a long day at the convention centre. I had great fun performing and I would advise anyone who is interested to give it a go!!!

Norm Hewitt came to our school. It was really entertaining listening to the stories from when he was younger, some of the stories were funny but sad aswell. He taught us to be kind to animals so you will treat people the same. He was a really good speaker I really enjoyed listening to him. It was quite exciting meeting a former ALL BLACK!
